Hereditary Angioedema is a rare condition that’s often misunderstood, with sudden swelling that can be mistaken for allergies, insect bites, or other common conditions. To help doctors and patients recognize it, this global campaign used bold, design-led visuals — including realistic HAE swells created with a prosthetic makeup team — to bring the condition to life and spark meaningful conversations.

To authentically portray HAE swelling, we collaborated with a prosthetic artist from Saturday Night Live to create highly realistic prosthetics that replicated the appearance and texture of different types of swelling. I worked closely with the photographer throughout the shoot, directing the visual approach, composition, lighting, and details needed to capture the prosthetics as realistically as possible. The resulting photography became the foundation for a broad range of digital and print campaign materials, translating the original images into cohesive layouts across multiple touchpoints.
